    Change Flywheel or Leave It?

Just wondering what I should do. I keep getting different opion's from everyone! I have an 01 GPR 1390 BB. The snout cracked on the crank more than likely from high revs and rough water. I have a new crank coming and a front cover with the bearing mod. Should I get a different flywheel or use the one I have. I see no damage to the magnets or anything and no cracks anywhere.

I want the stock charging system, so a total loss is out of the question. Will a RAD charging wheel work with the front bearing mod?

what about sending off an o/e and have itchecked and lightened ?? tripples seem to eat aluminum's at an alarming rate.

    It's still a single pipe, just a 1390 cc.

I don't want a total loss set up! What exactly do you do to lighten the stock wheel?

If anything balance the flywheel because that's what broke your crank. I've broken 2 snouts because of a bad flywheel. My opinion.

send it to protec....they will cut off area.s that are not as critical to strenght and then rebalance it.. some here will lap a aluminum wheel to the crank snout and retourqe to a slightly higher spec.. (some claim lapping is unneeded, and will not properly mate with the crank taper....)

my advice...send an o/e to pro-tec ,leave the weights on for a charging system ,remove them for non charging.. dont lap if a steel wheel and tighten to just over o/e spec.
