What is your definition of Hauls? To some its over 40 , 50 . A vx tops out in low to mid 50 to most folks on this site it doesnt haul much. Not too many folks put the vx in the fast or has power line. Of course all jet skis are fun.

There are lots of skis that fit all three but not that one.

Check out the vxr or vxs if you are into Yamaha. Course any of the supercharged yamhas will put a smile on your face.

When I first started riding I bought a 2000 polaris virage that tops out around 50, it was great. As much as I still love that ski, we all have that need for speed .

It's hard to not have fun on a jet ski, but I can't say the either one of those skis would exactly "haul ass". Now the vxr/s is maybe what you want to look into. They top out just under 70, turn on a dime, and take off like a rocket.

Yamaha started the vxr series in 2011 trying to combine performance with budget. It's just the engine from a sho (minus the supercharger) in a vx body. Great ski, I've put a lot of hours on it and enjoyed every single one

If you just want a fun little ski that will get you on the water either will do fine.

the question here is , [how old is your dad] i'm assuming referring to dad he is close to 50 , then my suggestion get him a cruiser seats are comfortable for his back, any vx properly maintained will achieve easy close to 500 hours , and very low maintenance.
having said this , if he is a speed demon , then an fx sho will do the job.

A Yamaha VX in no way hauls ass. It tops out at 53/54.
