    yamaha svho reflashing question

I bought a 2014 Yamaha fzr. I have installed the riva breather kit and free flow exhaust kit. my next step is an ecu modification. im not sure to go with r&d or vetch. also undecided with version 2 or version 3. in the future I will probably switch props if necessary and I have some riva sponsons I need to install. I really don't want to go into the engine much. I don't mind an aftermarket power cooler kit and blow off. but that will probably be the extent of what I am willing to do. I race buoys with some friends but nothing serious. can anyone give me some advice before I send my ecu off?

I would stick with the R&D R2 with what you just listed above. A cooling kit is always a good idea. When doing R3 retainers seems like a must with new springs highly recommended.

I do not believe so. It was my understanding the R&D reflash is a V-tech reflash sold thru R&D

No! Two completely different tune manufactures. R&D is out of California. Vtech is out of Sweden. Both good options. Tune yourself with Vtech or send ECU to California for the R&D service.

    Subscribed.

I'm waiting on a couple of FZ's. Both will be reflashed. 1 for social riding the other for some racing.
Never considered reflash before so keen to hear of others preferences and why please.

So V-Tech does not develop these R&D tunes?

R&D does there own tunes. Now to answer your question there is no tune yet from v-tec for a 2014 FZR. So R&D is your only one. Your other option would be a Motec or vipec ECU

Wonder what they would charge to change an R2 to an R3. I'm not impressed with the R2 myself.
