Post Miami To Bahamas 2014 Trip Report

Our group just completed a trip over to the Bahamas last week with 5 riders and 5 skis. The seas were really rough from the leftovers of hurricane Cristobal making the crossing in both directions interesting. 6-8ft rollers on the way there and 3-4ft tight chop coming back, not the safest but we powered through. We stayed in Bimini for the duration of the trip. The plan was to cruise all the way out to Great Harbour Cay on day 1 where we rented a house out. This plan had to be changed about 25 miles east of Bimini where one of the skis started throwing temp codes and going into limp mode. Still an awesome trip with over 100 miles logged on day 1 and plenty of room to go further. Bimini was fun, plenty of drinks, good food and cool people met over there for the labor day holiday. We are all ready for the next adventure.

    Awesome.

This plan had to be changed about 25 miles east of Bimini where one of the skis started throwing temp codes and going into limp mode.
That is the only reason I'm afraid to do a Miami to Bimini trip; my ski becoming disabled. What happened with the ski? Did he call a towing company? or did he get towed by another ski? or were you able to pull it over somewhere and fix it?

Thanks for the summary of the trip. You guys with your fancy GoPro cams need to take video for us here sitting on the message board being jealous

Working on a video now. We had to tow it back to Bimini with one of the skis. We were 80+ miles from Florida at that point so calling a tow company and waiting a day for them to get there was out of the question. Luckily, everyone in the group has technical knowledge with motors/electronics, the ski was macgyver'ed to get it back to Miami.
