    2000 gp1200r carb question for the pros.. simple answer if you have done it before.

    stock 2000 gp1200r cat removed, d plate and chip.. jetted to osidebill's specs with returns drilled. stock air intake removed, metal shield removed.
    Ok so i had rebuilt my carbs and replaced pretty much everything that was in them. I recently jetted it to get rid of some spuddering and rough idle.. well its still there..

    assembling the fuel pump side there were 2 clear diaphragms in it already so i put them back like it was, but now going through some threads it seems one of the clear diaphragms should not be there..

    [=====] pump cover
    -------- black gasket
    -------- clear gasket
    -------- Rubber O ring
    [=====] checkvalve assembly
    -------- black gasket/diaphragm
    -------- clear diaphragm <----- this is the one that seems should NOT be there.
    ====== rubber "o" ring
    [=====] Carb body.

    everything ive looked at is pretty vague on this clear diaphragm.. Should it be there? i hope so, because pulling the carbs on these things sucks.
    then again if it is my culprit, i would like to remove it.

    It belongs there, it has a cut-out at the one end to fit around the internal filter. But I don't see the O-ring listed that goes between the check valve body and the clear gasket of the cover???

    You can't really make tee handles out of the GPR screws, they are too short.

    yeah they are counter sunk pretty deep.. i turned the low speeds in 1/4 turn and it idles worse LOL. I am going out to day to take plug readings, have brand new plugs. I figure warm it up, change the plugs then run below 1/4 throttle for a few mins and pull them. getting tired of pulling the entire exhaust and carbs just to adjust the low speeds.. terrible design.
