4tec block, bore hone or leave alone

2008 engine I picked up that had overheated and went into limp mode. Center cylinder had low compression and failed leak down test. Removed head and looks like blown head gasket. Center cylinder had sat for some time and a bit of rust crept in. Photos show how I cleaned it up with grey scotch brite. Not perfectly smooth but can feel a bit of light rash. Can I run it like it is or does it need something else? Just a stock 08 RXTX boat, not planning any mods. Ideas, inputs are appreciated! 86 hours on engine.

hey man what up ? U r turning into a re sea doo tech, all those projects you get into. Are you planning on putting in new rings on that middle cyl ? Heck if not then put on a new head gasket and run a compression ck and then u will no.

Since motor is out and apart, I would personally bore/hone using an oversize piston .5, just to have that piece of mind.

rash is not acceptable. Since the engine was overheated, I'd be inclined to bore it just to true up the jugs. If you can measure it and it's inside the spec, then a hone/new rings is all that is needed.

Rust and overheating makes me lean to boring however...

Cleaned them up as good as I could, put an old head gasket on and got compression of 120/110/140. Sounds like I need to dig deeper into this motor? Its a spare motor so maybe it's best to part it out? I paid 1850 for it complete with oil pumps, pto, intake, injectors and xcharger.

Seadoo reman 2500 + 1k if you dont have a core... And seadoo reman dont come with oil pumps, pto, intake, injectors and xcharger. so at 1800 with no core thats not a bad deal
