It uses a standard car battery. I don't know the size but just about anything will work. Take a measurement of your current battery with a tape measure and get something close to it. CCA wont matter too much when you are using a large battery.

    Will a group 27 fit?

is there no rubber mat that belongs under the battery like on the PWCs?

Im so confused! My original battery is a deep cycle interstate srm-24
but my owners manual for my 2006 sportster says 12 volt 30AH. Owners manual says nothing about deep cycle
should i be using a deep cycle battery for my 06 sportster jet boat or just a marine cranking?
    thanks so much

It's just a stander marine battery, you can get anyway (Walmart). Group 24 but a 27 may fit just measure the tray.

There is no rubber mat under battery just sits in a plastic tray.
