    ultra mounting a gps

    Where are you guys mounting your gps to the ultra? I want a permanent mount that's secure really don't want to drill into the painted plastic is possible maybe the glove box door if i had to.

    Just buy the LX handlebar cover, it will fit on any Ultra. It has the GPS holder in the middle.

    it there any other equipment to buy with that piece? I have a garmin gpsmap 78sc. I looked at it i can get it from my local dealer for only $20 just wasn't sure what else was needed I thought there was another piece you still had t get

    I had my raymarine dragonfly on the glove box. It worked well there but the dragonfly isn't waterproof enough to sit that flat. I moved it up vertically beside the factory gauges. If your unit is waterproof it'll work great there.

    Did you have to drill to put it there or what did you use to mount?

    i would never put one on the glove compartment lid, looking down at speed is a real pain, and the chance of knocking it off in rough seas is a possibility as the lid is removable.

    I know it concerns me as well I really like the set up on yours but I have yet to see a mount for the gpsmap 78sc that will mount from a sideways screw like that. I even went out to the garage after seeing your to look on the ski for the screw you used under the hood.
