    1999 Ultra 150 Trim Problem

    1999 Ultra 150 trim issue
I'm new to the forum and have a problem with the trim system on my ultra 150. I was hoping for some insight on some of the common problems to look for. First off it is a fresh water ski with really low hours 33hrs ( I'm middle age guy with a lot going on but I still love hitting the the rivers in central IL) last time out it worked fine so this happened sitting on the trailer. The trim was left in the down position last time out and that is where it is currently stuck at. With the engine off you can barely here a faint click when the switch is pressed in the up position but that is it. No motor noise what so ever and absolutely dead no click or motor noise when the switch is pressed to call for down trim. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined but any help with a short cut would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brian Carlson

Did you check the 2 circuit breakers? One is for the Trim. They are at the back of the hull opening at the top.

I checked them to see if they needed reset and it looked like it had not been tripped, I pressed the orange trip button anyway. This just happened last night and I haven't tested anything yet with a meter. When this ski was about a year old the circuit breaker for the trim (the 20 amp) actually failed and needed to be replaced, it was not tripped but showed open across the terminals, I replaced it and found that the inside of the breaker had a separation across one of the internal brass looking terminal bars. Tomorrow I will start there but I don't remember hearing anything when that happened now I hear a faint click when I push the trim button in the up position. I've read there is a control module too and not sure if that has a contact making up inside making that noise and it is a motor or plug problem. I will start checking things out and see where to go from there. I was just fishing around to see if anyone has had any other kind of common problems to save me some leg work. Thanks again for your help
