    1999 SLTH 700 issues/bogging

Working on a friends 99 SLTH. the ski runs on the trailer, revs up, idles nice. Go to the water and it will not take any throttle, just dies down, and if you hold the throttle, it will die. However it will idle around all day long. It has a primer kit installed. I have checked compression, its good at 150 each cyl. Been thru the carbs a handful of times now, everything is clean, fuel pump good, and pop off is at 18 PSI both carbs. Inspected reeds, they look fine, no cracks and all are sealing properly. I checked part numbers, this ski does have the ignition update kit installed.... I'm basically lost as to what to try next. It seems to be fuel related, as there was some raw fuel down around the reeds when I removed them to inspect. The plugs also come out wet. Whats odd, is that if I pump the primer while running and give it throttle, it will rev up slightly, but still no where near revving out or even getting on plane. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Also, when setting the float arm height, are you guys measuring to the white "button" on the end of the arm, or to the actual metal arm? I've tried the search function but came up empty handed. It seems that everyone just says .060" below the casting. Thanks.

    Service manual page 3.45

Here is the reference that you are looking for. Looks like they are talking about the plastic button.

I was having trouble with my 1999 SLX. The jets were in backwards form PO. Confirm you have the correct jets installed. Mine would idle all day and when I gave it any throttle it would die. I confirmed jets were correct, low speed adjuster was set a spec, adjusted arm height, made sure accel pump worked, fuel tank pressure was good, fuel shut off was on all the way and no water is separator.

    1999 SLTH Carburetor Type Keihin
