Thread: MSX/SHO conversion?

I did a search but did not find one. I am bad with search terms.
Has as anyone attempted putting the 1.8 in an msx?

A few people recently talking about it. I think the ball was left in my court to measure for it being I have 2 sho motors and 5 msx hulls. Ill measure but I will not be doing that conversion. GPRs are way way way easier. Off the top of my head biggest problem.... Supercharger aiming straight at the gas tank

Interesting. What would an engine and wiring harness cost these days?
I am thinking using something others have not tried yet. If I am doing a conversion it may as well be something different.

I got 2 wrecked skis pretty cheap. 3k each

Wait... hill, you are still rebuilding the msx right? Is this for the second one you have?

Ya the second one. I am thinking of something different for the second ski. And that 1.8 is tempting.
3k is not bad at all for a wrecked ski.
What pump have others considered using?

I think the na 1.8 would be perfect for the msx hull.

The SHO engine would be great but to hard to work on the supercharger, assuming you could actually fit it in and plumb an intake to it (useing a two stroke fuel tank without the oil section will give you a bit more room)
Id love to do one but only a NA and only a 2004 hull, with the heavier engine and weight further forward its starting to put to much weight up front for my liking.
Would you stick with a seadoo pump? Or is there enough room for a Yamaha pump to mount up.
It would have some get up ang go!!!! Ive raced a few NA's with my SHO and they are pretty good, we would have less weight and I nicer hull

Sounds fun..... Who wants to donate all this stuff and I will do the conversion?

If I do it i will use the super charged engine. I love forced induction and all of the cars I own are boosted. Nothing like 17psi on a 1800cc engine
Its like a 230 blown hp from a 1600cc engine in a 1600pound car. Lots more fun than the N/A version at 120hp.
