    Oil cooler leak

Will I thought I fixed my oil cooler leak on my 2008 rxp-x 255 and its still there, so pissed off. Put new o-rings and nothing. So tomorrow I have to take her all a part again and start over. So my question is can I put some silicone around it to be safe. I would hate to do it three time. WILL you no what would happen to this seadoo then.

Never put silicone sealant near an oil system. There are other sealants available if you needed to but you would be masking whatever the problem is.

+1 should just be just orings and torqued. Maybe it was over torqued and bent somehow?

Unless the mounting tags are bent on the cooler it will seal up. Can you get a mirror underneath and have a look? It may have a pinhole somewhere.

I would use Permatex no.2 sealant if I had to use a cooler with a corroded O ring surface (along with the O ring) there are also some pretty good loctite sealants out there as well.

Cool thanks. I didn't see anything bent. I just don't understand how it started leaking, it was never touch and the o-rings were in good shape. The leak is coming from the bottom left hand side, frist I thought it was the bolt beening lose but when I put it back I made shore it was tit. So your saying it could be a pin hole. How can I test it

Easiest test is in place with a mirror, put some white paper towel down, that will identify the area the leak is comming from and use the mirror to pinpoint it.

Will I took it off again. And tested it. The part were the oil goes in is leaking around the outer edge. The coolent part was not thank god. So there's no oil in my coolent. So I will order a new one Monday. So now we know it is something to look at the next time you have a oil leak

What does it look like around where the o-rings go? if its corroded then you have to replace it
