Crank Case Air Leak - Am I Going to Have to Tear This Thing Down Again?
So I just finished doing a leak-down test on a 1985 JS550 stand-up. The engine holds pressure fine... unless I have the fly-wheel cover off. I think I know the answer to this... but it seems like I should not be depending on the fly-wheel cover for a sealed engine? Does this mean I've got a blown front crank seal? Tear down the engine and start from scratch? Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.
