2007 rxt head gasket pics, ew

What do you guys think? Pretty nasty in there. Suspected head gasket due to black particles in coolant reservoir and spitting coolant at WOT.

I just pulled the head off and found this crap, should I just flush all this out? Got a new head gasket and studs.

do you have open loop cooling?

I have never seen that much corrosion in the cooling passages. Open cooling?

Looks as though PO was losing water, ran hot, and put seawater in there.

get it "fixed" and sell it. Put some extra $$ with the sale price and get 1 in better condition.

water/antifreeze in the combustion chamber will make that piston much cleaner than the others
if you have one that is cleaner than the others then you can bet water was getting in
but a boosted motor is also likely not to burn any water and just leak exhaust into the cooling system
