Thread: Start key?

    Start key?

Is it normal to have to twist the start key to get it to read? There are a lot of times I put the key on and it wont read it until I twist it a couple times.

    It is not normal.
Post a pic of the inside of your key.

If your learning key works fine, it's a bad key. Reprogram the learning key as your normal key and use it. If they both won't work correctly (need twisting), it's a bad dess post. If so, replace it before it leaves you swimmin'.

I'm riding tomorrow, I will try the learning key and see. I cannot remember if it had the same issue. I just know I had to twist it 75% of the time to get it to read. The very first time I fired it up, I sat floating while it would not read the key! Itz - The ski is brand new. 2.5 hours on it.

My gtr has never had this issue. Both normal and learning keys are real snug fitting.

Sometimes you have to almost twist the key to make sure it is fully seated on the DESS post. Try the learner key and see what happens.

If your ski is new than I think it's just fitting a little tight. I learned to just press the key on harder, then rarely had an issue.
