boost and rpm questions now that i finally have a boost gauge ;)

Hello everyone. Its been a while since I've been on the forum... i just installed an analog boost gauge and tapped it into one of the fizzle oem intercooler blockoff plate feeds. Im seeing just over 9psi at full speed with my setup.. water is warm in the middle to upper 80s... with my Solas 15/20 Im only seeing just under 70mph and 7650 rpm max average. I thought perhaps I had a boost leak which prompted me to install the boost gauge... but as i recall that may be just what my riva s charger should put out. Any suggestions/comments welcome... perhaps i just need to swap to a 14/19?

I think 9psi is max boost for your SC. I get 11psi from my stock X charger.

I thought that was about right... but the rpms and top speed is what gets me...

Doesn't suprise me. That's a pretty steep prop. I run a 15/21 with 11psi and only seeing 73/74 @ 8100 ish. You gotta get your rpms up, boost only starts from about 6000rpm. I plan on a new wheel rather than repitch.

I think my solution would be a 14/19 as the x charger is not in the funds at the moment so what other solution would there be? I can swap back to a 15/20 easily later on when I do wind up with my x charger... and wont loose much if any swapping impellers. .. any other suggestions to "getting my rpms up"?

The prop is absolutely your best option right now. You could also change your nozzle to move performance between holeshot or top speed. You already have most other "low cost" rpm gainers.
