    Ultra250 supercharger question

So my supercharger hasn't been working. Started looking into it. Removed the belt cover and cranked the motor. Belt wasn't moving. It should be turning at all times correct? Loosened the belt and the supercharger pulley only moves barely in either direction. Should turn all the way around? Thanks for the help

With the belt removed the supercharger should spin freely in either direction.

Does the pulley have a clutch?

no a dampner if you cant turn the charger then it is seized it should spin freely.

I find it weird that while the mechanic had my jet ski apart during the rebuild he showed me my supercharger spinning and stated it was in perfect condition but hasn't worked since he rebuilt the motor. Just picked it up from his shop bc my ski was there 6 weeks and he never touched it. Side note he charged me 6000 for the rebuild

$250 Seems to be the price of admission if you read the description. Still though, not a horrible price. However I can't imagine these are hard to rebuild yourself..

the supercharger may not be frozen

remove the hex head bolts from the front of the dampener and then see if the outter front section turns

as I have had a few pulley bearings frozen and the charger it self was fine

by removing the dampener bolts you will see if its the pulley or charger

    Waz

$250 just for 4 x $20 bearing and some labour is a waste of money if ANY of the coating is peeling off the rotors, so the term REBUILT is a false claim, as he isnt recoating for that price is he !
