1-Remove the Large plastic nut inside the glove box on the push button, and then remove the push button from the glove box lid.

2-Go to Ace Hardware (or other store that has this item). Pick up two1-1/2 x 3/4 x 1/8 Nylon Specialty Washers. Make sure you get two, you'll need the thickness. I got three just incase. $1.70 Each. You may need 3 if your rubber seal is wore down.

3-Order from ebay a 1999 genesis glove box lid with a 1/4 turn knob. (i picked up one for $17) The 1/4 turn knob will replace the "push to open" knob on the Virage.

4-Remove 1/4 turn knob from lid, keep nut and lock washer that came with it.

5-install 1/4 turn knob on Virage lid using the nut and lock washer that came with it. Be sure to install the two washers from Ace on the out side of the lid, visible to you when your sitting on the ski seat. This will put the lock in the correct position with the strike plate in the glove box and prevent you from having to bend or adjust the strike plate.

6-Enjoy your glove box that will never get stuck again!

I picked up two Virages a year ago and the glove boxes upset me the most. Such a nice storage place that you could not use. The 1/4 turn lets you grab and pull, so it always opens.

I foresee a small run on that part number!

I am also unhappy with my Virage glove box push button latch release, which often does not, well, release.

Looking at the Polaris Industries online parts cross reference, that 1/4 turn glovebox latch part number was used on all 1999 and 2000 Genesis and the 2000 Virage and 2000 Virage TX.

Part Shark has it listed for about $23, did not check their shipping costs.
