    R&d intake grate Rxp-x260rs

    Anybody who can tell me why it says you should put silicone on it when you Mount it? I saw on the original there was some silicone to? Any explanation on why?

    You can silicone the thing until the cows come home but it will still cavitate from a dead stop. Don't get me wrong, the grate is bada$$, and I would buy it again, but it DOES cavitate at launch

    Yes, I've already posted about this in the past. In this topic, I was speaking in general terms and why its done.

    Really? Thats a good reason not to buy one since my ski has zero cavitation with the stocker out of the hole with just the R&D seal.

    Ryan, aside from the cavitation, the R&D hooks up something fierce at all speeds and really makes a BIG difference over stock. Have you seen the side by side comparison?

    I have seen that in maybe gives .5mph at the most. I have never really had a problem coming unhooked even when ocean riding. I think I might give the RIVA a try next season unless someone steers me in a different direction over the winter.
