Di performance questions
I think its time to start looking into more power for my XP.
Does anyone know of any tuning software for these?
Possibly injector flow rates?
Im looking to get more than just what PPG has to offer.
anyone do 70 on an XPDI?

Les Cooke over here had twin pipes on the Di back in 93-94 but was vastly different set up to the standard twins. It was abandoned when the 2i5 hp came out and 4 bangers ruled the closed course.
They are an obsolete engine now and no development has been underway for over 10 years so I dont like your chances.
I knew of some guy over there(states) was transplanting sled motors in an xpl with a turbo,he was looking at over 300hp and the weight of it was equivalent to the 951 set up.
I tried to get some info about it but found very little
You put 300 hp in an xpl with the same weight and you will have a winner in closed course a swell as the surf.
Some gut in Europe had twin 951s in line in an XPlimited,it was quick but kept breaking the coupler that held the 2 engine drive shaft together
Severe Vibration and different power outputs seemed to break it

my starting ideas are going to be having PPG reflash the MPEM, upgrade the fuel pump and up the fuel and air pressure to make up the difference.
I'd like to get reeds, milled head, flame arresters, mild porting, some kind of exhaust work and maybe a bigger bore.
I have 5 port cylinders right now so I'd like to switch to 6 port if im going big bore.
This is all just a planning stage right now so im open to all ideas

70 on a XPL hull would be pretty tough requiring serious mods. I have an 03 XPDI and would NEVER mod it. IMO, the 03/04 XPDI was the best PWC ever made. If you want to mod an XPL, find a 99-02 carb model.

I like the fuel economy, low smoke, and the challenge. I know this motor top to bottom and yes it breaks all the time but I beat the hell out of it too. Wish I could tune it myself but I'm beginning to believe that PPG is the only one capable of reflashing it. The only thing I truly hate about this motor is the cost of the injectors which could go bad at any time and the extremely high fuel pressure.
