    insulating wrap

I was thinking of wraping some of the hoses near the exhaust with heat shield wrap, to reduce chance of melting, but the only good ones i have and can find are made with fiberglass. i can even see the particles comming off on my finger when I touch it. To me it seems like the glass particles could cut into the hoses and even be sucked into the air intake. Does anyone have any suggestions??
