I ran into a FX CRUISER SVHO this weekend and couldn't beat him.

    Hey guys,

I ran into a new FX CRUISER SVHO in my Ultra 300 this weekend and I just couldn't pull on him we stayed side by side the entire time. My ski doesn't feel like anything wrong but I couldn't image that thing really being that fast. Any ideas? He said it he was totally stock and only 15 hours.

The FX is a great ski as well. The top stock speed is 68-69 MPH. I think the 300 stock top speed is 67. Both skis are great in flat or chop. Do you have Mods done to your ski?

Mines stock, it was mildly choppy. That FX was quicker then any RXT i've come across. I guess some mods this winter :/

Intresting, I thought all PWCs were limited to 67 by the coastguard, SCOM it is thanks for the info. This true for 73? Or marketing hype http://www.pwcperformanceparts.com/s...ormance/Detail ?

Remember, the 300 Kawasaki platform is a 1498 cc engine and the
Yamaha platform is a 1800+ cc platform.
Not to mention the Yamaha is lighter by a couple hundred pounds..

scom, air mods, block the bov and a riva plate will get you 75 if not very near. you dont need all the other stuff. riva plate isnt always needed either you will loose rough water hook up and performance its only good for flat river/lake water.

Yeah I definitely don't want to loose any rough water performance. The bay is almost always choppy

Guessing you're an FX fan? I was just really surprised how much faster then a RXT-X and at an 18% HP disadvantage. Hats off to Yamaha's engineering team!

Was this grudge race a rolling start (25-30mph) or idle start (3mph)?

If this was an idle start can't see how you couldn't blow'em out of the hole and pull him by 1-2 ski lengths for let's say the first 200 ft..

I believe there's no stock ski that can holeshot an Ultra 300 if launched correctly
