Performance-2000 speedster sk 210hp mercury m2
This boat was claimed to run 60mph by the guy i bought it from. I'm an idiot and trusted him that it ran...well it didn't. I had to have the carbs rebuilt and now it runs great...but my max rpms is 5000 and top speed on the boat speedometer is 40 mph.... just want to know if this is normal or if there is still a problem. and if there is, any suggestions? also just had the stator replaced.

It is going to be tough to get an honest answer from most here since this is more of a 4tec site than a Mercury site, However I do have some experience with them.
I dont think the 210 Merc will push that hull to 60mph, too much wetted surface. Also, the RPM's are right. One of the reason BRP switched to the Merc's was the high revving loud Rotax 2 strokes, people were complaining that the harmonics at WOT were just too much. The Merc motors are a relatively low running RPM so 5000 is about right.
