    2014 FX SHO Handlebar play

Hey guys, I just noticed if I pull straight up on my handlebars, not that being whatever detent its in, that I have some up and down play. Now I dont mean standing up and pull straight up, just whatever position the bars are locked in, I can get some play when pulling handlebars straight back. Is this normal?

Some "flex" is normal, especially while riding. The steering/ handlebars are assembled at the dealer, not at the Yamaha factory, so there is the likely possibility that your dealer may not have tightened everything down. The best thing to do is take a screwdriver and remove the two plastic handle bar pieces and then see if anything is loose. If memory serves there are four bolts holding the bars onto the steering column.

Thanks Mike, just feels like when I hit a wave, I have some vertical play in whatever position the handlebars are in. Thanks again.
