    TPS Voltage

I have a 2001 Virage txi 1200 and i want to ask if I'm within spec for voltage on my tps
old factory tps 0.53V throttle closed and 3.43v full throttle
new tps 0.35V throttle closed and 3.64v full throttle are either of these readings acceptable?
The reason I changed the tps is that the ski would bog down every once in a while and I would have to shut it off and restart it again for operation to go back to normal. Since it still had the original tps I figured it wouldn't hurt to change it out with a new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The 3.xx voltage at wide open throttle seems rather low.

Check that there is a full 5.0 volts feeding the TPS.

Also check that the throttle shaft is actually turning to full open when the throttle lever is squeezed to the bar. There needs to be a tiny bit of slack in the throttle cable at idle, but not much more.

Update! tps does have 5volts going to it.

There was slack in the throttle cable thus the throttle was not opening all the way. Now with everything adjusted properly I am getting .35v closed and 4.37 wide open Is that sufficient?

I have attached the jerry rig I used to test and measure voltage.

    Pretty close.

Does the TPS voltage rise further if you manually 'help' the throttle shaft lever at the front of the throttle body turn against the stop when you squeeze the lever to the handlebar?

There may be some play where the throttle shaft sections join together between the throttle bodies. Some guys take the slop out of those joints, which in theory should produce more rotation at the TPS and therefore slightly higher max signal voltage
