    Angry Chk Eng 2005 RXT

    Stuck again... I have a busted gauge cluster and can't get codes to come up

    But I keep getting the beep and chk eng on the gauge plus red light... and it puts the ski into a limp mode and can't go over 6000rpms

    Took it to the dealer and had a sensor replaced (knock sensor I think?) and took it back out yesterday (old fuel) and had the problem

    fresh fuel today and same again

    i can clear the check eng by removing the key and putting it back in but I get 10 -20mins before it comes on again

    Ive done 3 or 4 hours with this problem and plenty of wot... If it had a problem surely i would have blown it up by now

    i thought it was only at around 6000rpm or more the problem was happening but it did it just after start up this morning not much above idle (old fuel in the lines before fresh fuel made it through perhaps?)

    the engine has only 5 hrs on it since full rebuild... First 4tec I've done .... I'm so over this ski... Can someone help?

    It was a salt water ski when i bought it and i dont think it had been loved very much.... i took my time getting everything right and have given it a new life... Please help, this thing owes me a lot of $$$ and time... I didn't cut any corners (I don't think) and I have given it the royal treatment over the past 2 yrs.

    Anyone care to shoot?

    knock sensor was the codes the dealer got that's what he replaced... Piggyback harness needed?

    Salt water ski corroded main harness and signal from knock sensor not getting back to ecu? Hence replaced knock sensor didn't fix it? How do I test that?

    If you have harness corrosion you need to replace the wires or the harness asap or you'll never be right. The biggie on the 05 was the oil pressure sensors. You might also be overheating the exhaust or have a faulty temp sensor in the waterbox.
