2014 Yamaha FZR SVHO timing chain BROKE at 11 hrs

    Hi to all!
Just want to inform you that here in Romania, this year we had a fzr svho that after 11 hrs(and was very well treated engine - as per yamaha owner manual) - timing chain broke - splited and damaged a few valves and little the top of the piston!

In addition to that - another two older models - 2008 Fx sho and 2009 FZS have the cylinder head cracked under the cam shafts and water is mixing with oil!

The SVHO Chain is the same chain in prior years. I replaced my Chain at 6 hours then fired my helper. Gave me a chance to totally take apart my motor to crash learn a 4cylinder weed eater. Much better built than the poodooo

I don't believe the chains are any more prone then prior years... Chains are good, better than belts.. But they do fail.. SVHO's Do not and should not have a bulletin on it.

    Just paint peeling and performance

Do you know Shrabber, same part number I assume, but have they changed supplier or fiddled with the metallurgy?

A big question, I know, but clearly you dig deeper into this shit than I do...

Shit .. Lol Zone I'm into my race Car ... I had to Dig deep when I did my riva Valve train upgrade, when all was said and done the next day It was off a tooth. It lacked RPM's but had great compression and bottom end.. Tell tale

so I had my wife hold chain while I rotated shaft at prop end She allowed chain to drop and it lodged in the engine block guide(Kinked) never seen it before even Nils had a laugh, I told him we all did

To to answer Your question when I called to order they chuckled and of course asked and then referred to the 2013 chain.
