Pitfalls of buying a new 2013 Waverunner when it's almost 2015

I just seen a new 2013 VXR at my nearest Yamaha dealer. It's Oct. 10th 2014 and 2015 in a couple of months. I looked at the NADA value of this watercraft and it's only $8,650. I was quoted a price of 10,950 by email. Shouldn't the price of these watercraft be reduced a lot more since it's about two year old. If you bought one like that and decided you wanted to sell it you would really bite the bullet.
Anyone here had experiences buying new older model watercraft?

Was that out the door price or just for the ski without taxes and fees? Did that include a trailer?

I purchased a 2014 VXR this past June. Paid 11,200 for the VXR, nice Triton trailer and OEM cover. Rhode Island has no sales tax on boats so I only paid tax on the trailer when I registered it. Exception on boat tax , if you purchase an outboard engine. I'd buy a new one for that price or pay around $9500 for the 2013 at the most. Hope this helps.

No, that wanted over $1000 for a Com Fab trailer. Sad thing is I could have got an almost new Com Fab 1100 lb trailer for about 400 bucks.

Only pitfall I see is it's not the latest and greatest. On the upside. The money you save could go to mods that will out perform the "latest and greatest".
