    Official Green Hulk Knife Thread!

    Got knives?
Post up your blades, hawks and other edged weapons; I'm always looking for a new beauty. I'll go ahead and get things started; this is my Ranger RD-7, designed by Justin Gingrich and made by Ontario Knife Co.

Nothing fancy about this beast; it's not shiny or elegant, just a real hefty hunk of badazz 5160 steel hardened to 53-55 HRC. I usually prefer stainless knives here in FL but I got a great deal on this one and couldn't pass it up. I was going to go with the RD-9 (bigger) but glad I didn't now; the 8 inch blade on this thing is more than enough for any job, and it's a full 1/4-inch thick most of the way out to the point. In fact, almost every retailer lists the RD-7 as having a 7.5" blade, but mine is actually a full 8 inches. Maybe they should call it the RD-8, LOL. Actual cutting edge beyond the choil is 7 inches so I guess it makes sense.

They call this a "Black Micarta Handle" but to me it's really more of a greenish grey. The handle is okay, could use a little finesse, but not bad. Sheath is 'average' MOLLE compatible nylon, nothing special, but you will probably get kydex later anyway. The RD-7 is part of the Ready Detachment Ranger line, available in a variety of sizes with plain or serrated edge.

Everyone who handles this thing is like "wow," LOL. Yep, be prepared; your wife is probably going to ask, "WTH did you buy that thing for." Translation: this knife is definitely overkill for average consumer; it's not a pretty-boy either; but if you want a full tang monster utility tool for under $100, this is definitely one of the best bangs for the buck on the market. If the need ever arises, I honestly think this blade would easily cut through a boat hull or security door, or even a car body without any problem.

Carry a Benchmade Dejavu made of SV30 steel. My favorite is my custom handmade ATS34 steel filet knife. But the most important is my SS steak knife

Nothings better than a Ka-Bar: until you get into the really pricey 'custom' blades.
    I got a Kershaw and a Bench-made too, don't get me wrong.

...but first I'm gonna relax, have a beer, or three, and a cigar - was an AWESOME day at the Sea-Doo 'Ultimate Owners Ride.'

IF im not mistaking Bryan this is in the "open Discussion" section which is for "open Discussion"..If you are offended in any way, shape or form when it comes to these type of threads then i am asking you nicely to exclude yourself from them....IF im not mistaking isnt the Second amendment "The Right to Bear Arms" seeing you are of "political" knowlage i would think you would know this and not have issues with people talking about Constitutional Rights......

And IF you or anybody else desides to turn this thread into a pissing contest,i will remove the bullshit posts and the person(s) involved...Thanks and have a nice day

    Sno.
