HKS SSQV stopped working after 180 hours

    Hi Guys,

So I have had a riva HKS BOV kit fitted since 10hrs on my 09 SHO.

It has never had a problem until the last ride. The BOV kept popping out of the blue pipe, figured I would change the hose clamp to something decent. Went for another ride and now it doesn't work at all?

I have changed vacuum hose but no luck
Pulled it off and stripped it down, diaphragm looks fine, holes in the white plastic bit inside aren't blocked.

cant seem to see why it wont work? has been never played up before now.

    Any help appreciated.

would be god to know if anyone's found the problem.

after alot of googling it seems that it is very common problem.

not really keen to spend $230 on another one so might just get a 'genuine' chineeeezy one and see how long that lasts.

Years ago I had a genuine HKS super squeaky on one of my turbo cars. It lasted about 6months and then stopped working. I took it apart to see if a diaphragm was ripped or something, couldn't find anything that seemed out of order.

Like a dumb ass, I have one on my 14 FX svho now. I'll prolly be picking up a new IC down the road here and will most likely get on with a Tial flange on it. I've ran Tials on cars in the past and they have worked flawlessly. I figure I would give the "new" HKS a try. So far so good @ 16hrs.

When you say fog them ...do you lube the pressure tube or the outlet face ..or both ??

I usually just fog the shit out of them not as much through the vacuum tube ( as it not the issue). It's mainly the water, and ambient salt air it breathes.

I fog mine with fluid film or seadoo xps spray, they will stick and hang up after awhile when salt builds up on them
