    ultra 300x dead batteries

I've gone through 2 batteries this season. 1st one died after sitting for 2 weeks and barely could turn over the engine. the second one died after sitting for about a month and wont even turn on the display. Anyone experience this? I could let my motorcycle sit for 3 months in the winter and it would still start. Is there an alternator or something I can check?

The OEM Supplied Batteries (Yuasa) are certainly one of the VERY best.

I have never heard of anyone having the issue you described with a relatively new Yuasa.

    Recommendation:

    Good Luck !!!

I'd suggest a DEKA AGM for that money. You need to check the charging system when the engine is running and also check the system for an electrical draw when it's shut off. Simple way to address this is to just disconnect the battery when you aren't using the ski.

    Shop manual helpful here.

Any battery that is not fully charged after adding electrolyte is going to have a very very short life,

Whatever the source of your weak battery if is the battery itself or being drained somehow your multimeter/battery tester should show a minimum of 12.5 volts sitting and a minimum 13.5 volts running on the trailer ,good to check from time to time...

What he was getting at with the scom is the riva style has a constant drain on the battery, although not a lot, it does draw power 24/7!

Thanks mike, was I a rush this morning when I 1st replied.
I know a guy who has fitted a gps tracking module for insurance reasons and it flattens batteries aswell unless its started and ridden every weekend.

Yes Its possible to be a charging issue, but who replaces a battery with out checking charge first
