    Twin 93 SL 750s

    Hey all,

On 20/Oct/14 I bought two SL 750s neither run. One has a seized motor and want to part out the ski. Which puts me to the other one compression 130-130-120 it fired up with starting flui I believe the fuel system needs love. I know the fuel lines are not that old cause they're not the grey Tempos. So I'm trying to pluck the carbs out and has me confused. I removed a nut but the bolt stays. Does that sound right? Do the bolts stay? They feel like they are threaded from top to bottom.
    Cheers in advance!

There are 6 of those to remove. The entire rack of carbs must be removed together, as they are connected. Remove all six nuts, the throttle and choke linkage, and they should break free.

But is it normal for the bolts to remain in the carbs after the nuts come off?

Yes. They are studs that are threaded into the bottom of the carbs, pass through the intake manifold, then use hex nuts to "sandwich" the manifold in place. Click image for larger version.
