2007 ultra 250x stay away or ok to purchase?

I'm still in the market for a second ski. I told myself if i found a good deal I would buy used other than that wait for boat show season and buy new. I have a ultra lx NA as primary ski but just found a 2007 250x ultra for $2500 with trailer it has 65 hours on it. I thought i saw somewhere you guys saying to stay away from these? I really wasn't to interested in a supercharged ski but at this price I may be unless I'm buying a money pit reliability is important to me which is why i had avoided supercharged models. what should I check on this thing or should it be avoided all together and keep shopping?

Those things had some problems. You might end up putting more money than that in repairs if the seller is hiding some problems. I say either go for a newer ski (2010 and up) or stick with your Ultra LX. The performance of a 300/310 is well worth the money.

That's what i was looking for its not a good deal if that ski has known issues. I don't want to spend even $2500 to throw another $2500 into to it in the spring at that point i would have rather just paid the money for a new one with a warranty and a higher value

Heavly modded 2007 250x 9.5:1 pistons, 1-1 pulley kit 6 degrees timing and ran 100+ hrs Zero problems, even after I sold it the ski never had any factory based issues......
It was looked after and modified CORRECTLY and in return it gave great service in return.
    Waz

But in saying all that....stay with atleast a 2010 260

It will save you in thd long run

I had really good luck with my 2007, one supercharger belt, 1 steering cable and reverse cable replacements, ski had over 200 hours. Went through a few sets of bearings and a pump too, upgraded to the new 2011 pump setup last year.
Just sold it a few weeks ago.
    I just bought a 2014 Ultra LX

Seems like a great deal with low hours. Mine has been great also no factory issues what so ever. I have ridden a 300 and can say if u wanna spend extra get a 300. At that price I'd get it and have the bearing upgrade to the pump. And look it over see if it's as clean as a low hour ski should look
