    Cylinder Scrarches

    my cyclinder has a couple of scratches on the walls from the psiton beinf jamed and had blew...waht can i do to fix it? and can i put in a new psiton wit it scratched?and

    If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, you should really have the cylinder re-plated to fix it right.

    Can you post pictures? If its just the aluminum from the melted piston its possible to remove with acid. The oem NS is very thick and durable so its likely easily repaired.

    The scratch that is above the first port clockwise from the transfer port looks like it might be pretty bad. The rest of them dont look bad.

    whats the best thing to do with the bad one? the one that isnt bad was use previously and nothign went wrong with it..

    Doesn't look good. Probably need to get renicked and resized to a new piston.

    Can you post a pic showing the top and sides of the piston?

    the cicrcle marks is where i had to hammer it out bcause how it was jamed in the cyliner

    That middle pictures show where the NiCasil is totally wore away.

    The stock Yamaha coating is the best. Never found anyone that duplicates it.
