    Sponsons

I want to get the Riva sponsons but my concern is, are they going to put added stress on the hull and cause it to crack? Or should I just skip the Riva sponsons and drop the stock sponsons?

I put Worx sponsons on mine and use them in the middle position. At that position you get an inch of extra sponson over the stock OEM set. If you drop the stock ones you can pick up a half inch of extra sponson. Either way it's more sponson and better hard turning. Doesn't cost anything to try them dropped first !! Then you can decide. The Riva ones are blingier but I really like the Worx sponsons. As far as hull issues go I have not heard of anyone with the Worx sponsons having any issues at all ...

For a jet ski newb, what exactly are the sponsons for? And what benefit do the aftermarkets hold?

I have dropped the stock ones, takes 10 mins with a drill and makes a noticeable difference in turning. Def a worthwhile free mod.

I'm going to drop them over the weekend. What torque specs did you guys use to reinstall them?

About 1 fart tight. Don't go 2 farts or you could break the seal.

Sponsons are the black plastic things on the rear back of hull with seadoo on them.

for a newby they like a fin on a surf board it cuts the water so the back end doesn't slide out, eg fish tail the more you put down the harder you can turn.
