    Spark Plug Question?

What is the difference between a BR8ES and a BR8ES-11 plug?

.....other than the fact that the BR8ES is easier to find.

The -11 plugs are wide gap. I think they are .042 or .043 gap.

    gap

the recommended gap on the BR8ES-11 is .043-.044 . you can't get that wide of gap with the BR8ES.

The mans right! Standard plugs are gapped to .025, and can be 'pushed' to .030 without the electrode being too far off parallel with the earth. The bigger the gap, the farther off parallel the 2 bits become, and the messier the spark gets! -11 plugs are made to be gapped to .040+ whilst maintaining a true parallel surface, so a cleaner spark. The best plugs I ever ran where 'Perma-Gap' (with no adjustable earth point). They can't be fouled as the spark has to jump from the centre electrode to the outer edge of the plug (where the thread is). They were on a Mercury outboard 150hp, so Gawd knows what voltage was generated to create that size spark! I never, ever had a fouled plug with them! Anyone ever tried these in a ski?
