Intake grate for an 05 RXT

What's the poll on the best intake grate for the 05 RXT with the 127+3 sc wheel? All around performance? Or is stock the best?

Ross, the stock grate is terrible, no hook up, etc. You will run slower through any kind of choppy water.

If you ride in moderate to rough conditions the consensus is to go with the R&D grate

Those on flat water looking for best top speed like the Riva grate

I would also highly recommend you install a wedge on the RXT

    Hope that helps!

stock is the fastest grate but offers no hookup.

Yes but it's worth it on the std RXT due to how jumpy it is. If you're riding a flat lake or flat river keep her stock unless you're having launching issues. Don't go past 77mph on the RXT unless you're prepared to switch the entire rear setup to the T-X

The stock grate blows apart at about 75 pulling the inserts out of the OEM pump shoe. It also pulls the factory shoe down allowing water pressure above it and swelling it. Eventually you're left with a mess you can't even get a large bolt into. 77 and you wants the RXT-X setup but unless you're prepared to spend a lot of time and patience it's not worth it considering how cheap the 08 TX is.

The pump shoe is the worst job you can do on these craft and you have to get it right with shims or the alignment will never be right. You can click on the link in my signature and see exactly how it's done and what it entails.
