anyone have one of these suction cup mounts?

they look way stronger than the gopro one.. i just dont know if they are versatile enough for our skis.

I haven't used mine much yet but i haven't had a problem with the gopro mount but i get water in the case every time. Even tried putting grease around the seal
ps i like the lever on the gopro suction cup. Makes it grip a lot stronger

if you are getting water in the case you need to replace the seal or the entire housing. if you have the skeleton backdoor you can take the seal off of it and put it on the waterproof door.

this shows ya how to replace it..

what i like about the BRLS is the smaller cups. to me that should allow it to mount in many places that the standard gopro suction cup cant because of angles or whatever. of course tether tether tether cause any mount can come loose.

I do not trust any suction cup on a watercraft, especially holding such an expensive piece of equipment

    hence the tether.

i don't care what type of mount someone uses, suction cup, sticky mount and so on... if you don't tether it its your own fault if it gets lost.

all mounts can fail no matter what they are made of.

if that suction cup mount allows more options to mount it to a ski i will eventually try one out and yes it will be tethered.

I agree but I have to admit I have never had my Contour camera ever come off... we even stuck it to a wakeboard and after a dozen crashes it never came off. I do always use a tether but have never needed it.

I have 2 seperate waterproof back doors because one has a float on it. Both leak and it has leaked from day 1. There is also no debris or tears in the seal. Must be coming in from the buttons. Guess i got a defective one

    GGG,

I had an issue like this with mine. What I did was remove the tiny C clips holding the buttons and greased up the orings with dielectric grease. The orings over time will get dry and allow water to enter.
