riva piston ring end gap
i'm rebuilding my motor with riva pistons (stock size) and i was wondering what ring end gap i
should use. when in calculate it with the instructions that came with the pistons i have to use
0.031 inch. is this correct for running with a ET 68-140.
also what gap should i use on the oil rings??? because i hear different things about that,
the one says use 0.015 inch and others say to use the same gap as the compression rings.

According to Riva's instructions, .031" is the correct gap for the top ring (3.937 x .0080 = .031496").
The rest of the instructions are not clear for the second ring and third. Call for e-mail Riva: (954) 247-0705

this is the reaction i got from riva tech support.
The top ring should be adjusted to the proper end gap.
The second ring should be .004-.008 inches more than the top ring.
The oil ring should not be filed. It should have at least .015 inch gap
