GTX 155- "Bogging 2000-4000RPM..." Cant figure this one out

    Hello all!

    I have a 2003 GTX 155 Sea-doo...
Starts and runs well on land, runs through the "bad spot" fine...
It has a newer wear ring, plugs, and fuel treatment
    Motor idles perfect.
When you smash throttle quick it takes off perfect, runs 7200RPM or so, no problems.

When you go accelerate slowly, the motor will bog between 2-4000RPM. If you stay around 2200, then smash gas, it hesitates bad, if you brap throttle over and over from 2000 up to 4000.. back to 2000.. up to 4000 etc... you will get a bit of a "pop" from the motor.. almost like a backfire/misfire. Runs rough between rPM range, throttle hesitates in this range as well.

Tried replacing the MAP sensor, as many have had similar issues, but no change there.

    Does anyone have some thoughts?

    Thanks guys!

unless you can get a code reader, it's going to be difficult to diagnose this problem..throwing parts at it _might_ work, but you need to at least narrow the scope a bit. I'd pull the ecu connectors and reseat them for a start. I'll assume it's not throwing a maint warning

I'd also have a good look at the engine harness to be sure it isn't rubbing on anything.

Vibration is a clue, alas a small one here.

Going from zero to wfo and not having a problem makes this harder to diagnose.

    There are no codes.
I checked already, I do have a code reader.

Yes the 0-full with no problems is whats confusing me as well...

Unsure as to history on throttle body... what direction are you thinking with that? TPS? something of that nature?

One thing I would be checking is that tps% to make sure the potentiometer graduates smoothly to full throttle with no jumps/hiccups

By that you mean plugging into buds, and slowly opening throttle while reading the TPS %, assuring it goes up smoothly?

so simply pull throttle and watch the % rise and make sure no blips?
    easy enough

Yeah I'd say it's your coil packs. After checking everything you can without spending money and if you still can't find anything I'd say spend your first bucks on the coils if it ends up having to be a process of elimination.
