    Need help with engine swap?

I have two 2008 RXP-X's. One cosmetically is in mint condition, still looks like new. The other only has 20 hours on the engine but the hull is not in that great of shape. So basically I want to just swap the engines from each one in to the other. That way I can keep the one with the mint hull and have the low hour engine. My questions are what electronics do I need to swap over also so the hours shown are correct for the engine swap? Do I just need to swap the ECU's? Also do the ECU's have the VIN's stored in them, will the VIN not match the new hull? What tools should I need for the swaps? I long time ago I replaced a blown engine in my 2005 RXP before but since these are running engines is there anything different? What will I need to pull off of the engine in order to be able to take it out, supercharger, intake manifold....or can I leave everything together? What are the engine alignment tools that are needed? Any help is appreciated.

If they are same model/year you can swap
    the engines without electronics/ecu.

The VIN is stored in the ECU so if someone checks will find out.

Also if you swap the ECU's you will need to swap the dashes since they are paired to the ECU.

For more complex answer someone with mor experience than me have to step in

    just my two cents

What about if the ECU and is left, is there a way to reprogram the hours so I can put the correct hours to match the engine?

no you cannot simply change the hours. They make it like that to deter fraud.
