Yamaha fx sho 2008 engine flushing

Guys need some help, listen i have a problem, i dont have a water supply where i store my jet ski. I used to flush my xl1200 by clipping the flushing kit and at the end i make a funnel and pour a bucket of water inside the funnel. It used to work well for my xl1200. Tried to do the same on my sho and after 2minutes with engine running a saw some white smoke coming from around the engine. I was searching for an answer to what could have happened and it looks like the engine might have over heated slightly. But no alarms went on. What should i look for?? Thanks very much

Next time rig up a pressurized container, like what they use for bug spray or deck sealer, to attach to flush fitting.
