    I went with BRP !!

The money that was put aside for a new ski was burning a hole in my pocket...so I decided to use it for another new toy. It's faster than a Ultra 250X, zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds compared to 5.73 for the Ultra. It gets better than 30 mpg instead of less than 4 mpg. I already have 3 skis in the family, but nothing like this. AND it's a 2 seater, something I wish the Ultra would have been !!!

    Pics of myself and xcduetester.

Funny you posted that Richard. I have been thinking about one of those as well. Did you already take delivery or was that a demo bike? What dealership has them by you?

My neighbor is interested in 2 of them and he was the one that pointed them out to me. He is on the list at Riva for his. Me, I am holding out to see and ride his before making my final decision.

MSRP is $14,999 for the 5 speed manual. Most places are selling them at list price. I lucked out ! They are only available in 12 states. Only 2500 will be produced for 2008. In 2 years they will be available nationwide. No SC yet, but this is the first model of what BRP says will be a whole line. Weight is 697lbs. It has a 990cc V-twin with 106 hp at 8500rpm. Has traction control, stability control with roll over mitigation and ABS. Even has power steering and reverse. Uses 87 oct gas.

That was a demo Spyder. Mine will be silver and black. Riva was the cheapest dealer around, but even with my dealer discount they were hundreds more than I paid. There won't be many of them to go around the first year or two. A lot of dealers are already sold out of the first run. If you're considering one, better get your name on a list somewhere. Ebay will be charging thousands over MSRP when they hit the streets. It's a no loose situation !!
