    2012 VXR or 2014 FZS

Right now I have a 2012 VXR and looking to get a leftover 2014 FZS. Is there a big difference in performance between the two? What would be the biggest difference between the 2?

    Thanks

Or would I be better to look at a FX SVHO or a FX SHO? I ride a lot in the open Ocean.

Either way go, FX SVHO or the FZ SVHO, there is a night & day difference in performance. Way more power with the SVHO platform. If you ride more open ocean, you may want to go the route of the FX hull. It is a better ride & hooks up better in the choppy open water. If you ride more lakes, the FZ is a better for those conditions. However, both hulls are significantly better than the older style VX hull (what you have) in choppy water. Good luck with you new purchase!

The fx svho would be a great choice for open water. Great handling in chop and plenty of power. You won't regret it

I've owened all three models and I can assure you the FX-SVHO is the best choice when it comes to performance, comfort and handling, Julio...

And, of course, the difference you feel with ~220 horsepower vs. ~180.

    Thanks
Here is the difference in speed:

    older FZR but anyway...
Three runs, bit more acceleration but about the same top end
But if you hit some waves the FZR is long gone... that`s the biggest difference in my opinion.
VXS can only keep up on flat water

I wish I had water like that in the video but it only occurrs now and then. I run Lake Erie which is normally 1 to 3 foot waves. My VX Deluxe top is 52-54mph but indicated as 56-57. You take a pounding and you can hear the rev limiter kicking in on almost each wave as the pump loses water. Some fun time is when there are 6 foot rollers farther apart to jump but hard to do in a VX Deluxe. Need more hp. Appreciate the comments because I was thinking of a VXR for me and the wife can have the other. Now I think I should just look at a FX or FZ.

FX will be your best bet for rough water.
