Beta Testing new Vtech data logger functions, Ignition angle and more!

We are now finally almost ready with the new version of the of BRPDIAG for android ( and soon same for IOS)
Tested on Bosch ecu, no idea yet what it will log from a Siemens ski.. but do try it

In this version we have added:
    Ignition Angle Cylinder 1,2,3
    Optimum Ignition angle.
    Basic Ignition angle
    Desired Ignition angle
Retardation Cylinder 1,2,3 ( knock protection)
    Mass fuel injected.
    Throttle air flow
    And some other stuff..

If you want to play around with this then you can just download the new version to your phone.
The app will then update your logger with new firmware !
No need to send us any hardware ! wee..

But since this is a beta you might have issues with it if so then let us know.

Also first bug we found is that you need to disable 2 channels that creates disturbance.
    And this is :
Fuel injection time 1 ,2 - both these need to be turned off before you can log properly.

    To turn them off :

    In the logger value page.
Click any value, then select "Change value type".
    Select " Fuel injection time1"
then click that value again and choose turn off.
Do the same for "Fuel injection time2"

Now you can select other values to be displayed.
All values are logger no matter what values you select.
So you can later download logs from server and study what happens.

Again there may be some bugs in this new version..

But having Timing / igntion is a big step.
Now we can finally know what the ecu sees.

And this will result in remaking a lot of tunes.
And it will tell us / you how fuel qualty and temps affect the power / ignition angle of he ski.

Is there really difference between your local 91 / 93 octane fuel..

Download the new installer from here:

    Good work dev team!!

Now we can see in real time how good someone's fuel is and how much knock correction is needed.

    Good job

Is the app (APK) or firmware flashed into datalogger Beta?

My point is, if we try the new app (APK), then the app updates firmware into datalogger....if we then go back to using original app, will this cause issue since firmware is permanently in the hardware?

Is it okay to update android to Lollipop 5.0?

No you cant go back to old version once updated the logger.
But if you report bugs then we can release a new version.
There will be a new version in a few days with some fixes.

no idea regarding the Lollipop 5.0 ..

Sanfish, are you running the logger with Lollipop 5 now? Does everything work ok? Which version logger firmware you running? Cheers

Because I only use the Android phone just for the logger, I haven't updated to Lollipop in the fear it causes issue. I'm still on KitKat 4.4.4. After I downloaded the latest app from Play store (version 45 app), it automatically flashed my logger to version .88 firmware.

I wish I had 100% confirmation if the app supports 5.0. Last time I asked Vtech they didn't know.

FYI: If you do go Lollipop, make sure you do a clean (fresh, setup as NEW) update because many are having issues when they don't. Basically, after updating you do a "factory data reset"...backup everything before.
