2002 Virage i, engine rebuild project

Well, I welcomed to the family a 2002 Virage i (800). I got it on the cheap, as it supposedly needed a piston... it was too cheap to pass up. so i bought it. every thing is there.

get it home take seat off start checking it out, and crank it, water comes poping out just above the intake manifold..uhh..strange, upon further investigation I found that indeed the PTO Cylinder was cracked, engine must have been hyrdolocked.

but for what i got the machine for, its still OK. proceed to remove engine from ski, with water pouring out after every part removal, I was told "It just turned off..." well ya, it just turned off since the engine was full of water....as of July 30th. its been sitting with water inside the crank. so guess what, not only do i need a top end kit, but i also need a crank, and a cylinder.

But when all is said and done, i should have a nice new engine!

Man that is clean on the outside! Those inserts for the 1200 would be too tempting for me.....

I've got a complete decal set if you need anything. Ive also got a pair of heads, injector brackets with orings, hood hinge with a shock and a factory shop manual.

Ya the 1200 insterts are tempting, but this ski might just be a get up and running and sell, or get up and running and hang onto for friends or whatever. and when i decide later down the road, drop in a 1200. ya she really is a clean ski, scratch on the hood, but its 12 years old it wont be perfect. but its pretty dang close!

It's a great ski for friends, top speed of just under 50, great on gas, and as long as the emm holds out, reliable!

Let me know if you want any of that stuff, the price is definitely good hahah
