New here. 1998 seadoo xp engine options?

    Hello,
new here. Been a lurker over on the polaris section for awhile. I'm looking at a 1998 seadoo xp. The guy says its fast its efi and he wants 2750 for it. Now I dont know what seadoo offered in those ski's that year. I want to keep any good info or the odds in my favor when looking over thi rig.
so what options am I looking for on this ski?

The '98 never came with fuel-injection so it may have a motor from a 2003-05. That seems like an odd thing to do but you never know. To properly convert this ski to EFI, he would have changed harness, gauges and gas tank. If done properly its a reliable ski but fuel pump issues can get expensive.

Without knowing or seeing more, you could be buying someone else problems.

The only EFI ski seadoo produced that year was the GTX RFI

That ski in the picture is a 1997 787cc carb'd motor unless he's converted it with the 98 GTX RFI 787cc motor?
