First time Kawa
I'm new to the Kawa world of PWC, had a Seadoo for quit some time and hit 80mph after a lot of $$$....
Now I'm starting with my 2014 300, what do you guys recommend R&D or Riva for plate, wedges, sponsons, air flow?
For now I will only look at handling and pump mods.

Farthing or RIVA sponsons, 14/21 impeller, R&D plate, and R&D speed up module(to get past the 67 mph limiter) are my recommendations. If you are looking for flat water speed, you could go with the RIVA plate. The R&D plate outperforms the RIVA in just about every other area, though. You could also gain some speed by getting an R&D grate, but you will lose hookup vs the stock grate.
There are also some free mods you can do. You can block off or tighten the Blowoff valve, remove the recall plate, trim/remove the rear tubes, etc.

There are MANY RETAILERS selling crap / bogus claims for this platform, so choose your mods wisely

No it's a 300, the 310's only come to South Africa a mouth ago....
No my aspiration is to not loose reliability but get over the 72mph mark for now.

There have been some guys whom were able to get to 75 MPH for a minimal investment.
I got less than 500 usd invested in mods, and I could probably "squeeze" another MPH out of it if I worked at it.
Do some reading, educate yourself on your new machine, do your proper maintenance - yet most importantly - Have Fun !!!
PS - what color did you get?
