    Ultra 150 slow acceleration

    Hi all!

Just purchased 2 ski's a Ultra 150 and a ZXi1100, now I've had a quick search but can't seem to find what im looking for (Point me in the right direction if this has been covered before)

My ultra 150 appears to be really slow to get to speed, now the motor pick's up really quick and gets to full rpm. The motor feels great but the ski just slowly takes off and after a while of 7k rpm it finally pulls the ski up and starts planing and gets full speed(with 2 people this take a very long time). Is this an impeller problem?

    Cheers Matt!

Sounds like cavitation....pull the pump and see if there is damage to the prop, stator vains or housing, also check the clearance, if no damage to anything you may be able to pull a few shims to tighten the clearance...

Before you pull the pump, climb under it with a flashlight and inspect it for trash and/or damage. Something like a matchstick or wrapper from a pack of cigarettes is enough to just about kill a jet pump.

My ultra did the same thing and the carbs were bad... Bought a new set (had to because bolts all broke off when removing) and the ski ran like it should!

    Cheers guys!

Managed to get under the ski yesterday, I can nearly get my fingers between the impeller and the pump wall. Im guessing that's past the .6mm service limit Haha!
Just ordered a new solas 16/20 and a bearing/seal kit. I'll reportage back as soon as I receive the parts.
