Yamaha fzs Throttle Position Failure while engine running.

    Hi guys
I just switch engine in my FZS for and everything worked out great except for when i give it throttle.

I have checked the engine in the Yamaha Diagnosetic system.
When the motor is running it wont open the throttle valve more than 12 degrees. Still the sensor with the wire attached to it is full throttle. But when the engine is off it opens 80 degrees at full throttle.

The yamaha diagnostic scale is 0-90 degrees. I dont know if its suppose to go more then 80.

The Accel. positon sensor worked on the previous engine so that should be working.

I have a new Throttle body/ Throttle valve with the new engine.

    Someone experience this problem?
Why does it only open the throttle 12 degrees when the engine is running?
And should the throttle open more than 80 degrees with full throttle?

So the ski runs? Has it been in the water? How many rpm at 12 degrees of throttle postion?

Triple check all your wiring connection's and have a good look at each pin/socket. Did the new engine sit from any length with Time before or after install? These throttle bodies can get gummed up, sticky if they sit for a while.

No codes with the old engine??

If it's giving you throttle position codes I would check that first then your Reverse switch

That's where I was going with it, reverse limit is 3500rpms?

Yes it runs, and i had it in the water. The RPM on full throttle (12 degrees) is what it should be on 12 degrees opening. Meaning The engine sounds good but it just wont give me more throttle.

I also tried to connect my old throttle body too see how it responds. And ive noticed that when the motor is off and the computer is unpluged it doesent respond if i give it throttle at all. But i think thats how it should be while its not running.

When the jetski is off and you hit the starter button fast just to turn the electronics on (you can hear the blidge pump start running etc) the throttle goes to full and back again. I guess it suppose to do that just to test it.(Like in the video)

Now I will also try to clean up the connectors and see if thats the problem.

Thanks for the replies so far

Its one of the cables behind the front storage, just follow the cable from the sensor. That dosent really solve the problem becuse the ski will start beeping and show warning when the sensor is disconnected. Havent figured out how to get the ecu to ignore that.

you probably will need a resistance but i don't know how much ohm you need??
or is it that simple you just twist the cables if its a on/off switch??
    thanks
